Born and raised Malaysia, educated in Australia and with experience in Africa, South-East Asia, Europe and North America, I most recently served as an Executive Officer at The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Canada’s largest Bank and Company.
I joined RBC in 2017 to lead their Tech + Ops Innovation Group focused on an array of emerging technology including BlockChain, Voice, Digital Identity and CyberSecurity. I then spent time building, launching and managing Loyalty focused Merchant Solutions/Products and RBC’s Strategic Partnerships including Suncor/Petro-Canada, Rexall and DoorDash. Lastly I then had the amazing mandate focused on RBC’s Merchant Acquiring and Payments business to proudly support hundreds of thousands of Businesses (Micro/SMB/Mid-Market/Enterprise) get paid.
Prior to joining RBC, I spent 6 incredible years as part of the eBay Inc and then PayPal Inc family, with roles leading Market Development & Mobile for PayPal/Braintree Canada and Channel/Mobile Partnership's for PayPal UK/IRE.
An active startup advisor, mentor & investor (Symend and Aggregate Intellect), I have sat on a range of Global Advisory Boards including Singularity University Canada, Copenhagen FinTech, Mars Discovery District, BC Tech Association, TechToronto and Dash40 Ventures.
I’ve had the privilege of being featured in: The Globe & Mail, National Post, The Financial Times, Business News Network (BNN), TechVibes, VentureBeat, BetaKit, MobileSyrup, Toronto Life, Canadian SME Business Magazine and more.
As I proud immigrant and Pan-Asian Leader, I currently serve as the President & Chair of Ascend Canada and sit on the Board of Ascend Global Leaders, the largest, non-profit Pan-Asian organization for business professionals in North America.
As a champion of Mental Health Awareness, neuro-diversity and early talent development I am honored to serve on the Board of Directors of Step Above Stigma, a registered Canadian charity dedicated to empowering young adults to break the stigmas that say they are unworthy.
